We went to a wonderful harvest party last week at a friend’s vineyard in Napa Valley. The fall colors were so beautiful and inspiring, we had to share them. The vibrant red leaves and purple grapes were lovely, and the colors in the food platters were incredible! A little inspiration for our fall wardrobes…

It’s our 2nd anniversary (our official birthday was November 1) and to celebrate we’ve come up with something very special! We have teamed up with one of our favorite T-shirt lines, SGR, to create an exclusive Carrots tee. If you spend $250 or more during the month of November, you’ll get one for free ($80 value) — or you can purchase one at the store.
Aren’t they cute?!

Assouline has published a collection of recipes from 100 designers, called the American Fashion Cookbook ($45). The book has everything from “goat cheese tarts with arugula salad” from Phi’s Andreas Melbostad to “sweet mascarpone and nutella crepes” by Devi Kroell—oh, and so much more! Good food, good fashion, good times.

One of our favorite designers, Yigal Azrouël, came by for a visit when he was in San Francisco last week—if you didn’t make it, you truly missed out! He’s so charming and personable. We had such a great time hanging out with him, talking about fashion and cooking (he’s quite the cook and loves hosting dinner parties). Here’s Yigal with two of our favorite customers, Alma and Grace—cute!

NY-based line Cardigan is a small collection of sweet, preppy knitwear. Lynne Hiriak designs more than just cardigans, but the name and creation of the company was inspired by her true love of the wardrobe staple sweater. (Rumor has it she has over 150 cardigans in her closet!)
Now in store:

While we are not enjoying the wet week here in SF, we are enjoying two things: getting to finally wear our new fall boots (NO rain boots!) and finding pretty umbrellas to make the rain a teensy bit more enjoyable. We have carried umbrellas by Maglia Francesco since we opened and we have quite a few lovely prints to choose from in store—plaid, striped, and more!
UPDATE: It is NOT raining now. It is sunny. But we still love our new boots and umbrellas! Thankyouverymuch.

Fashion week in New York is always an energetic week of inspiration and fun for us. We always fuel up on good meals after the long days, which we never mind doing! One of our favorite lunch spots is Momofuku Noodle Bar (pictured above) in the East Village. We love the steamed pork buns, delicious noodles (not super greasy) and the soft serve angle food cake.

We were craving this sort of meal a few days ago here in SF and headed to Heaven’s Dog (pictured above) in the SOMA. Pretty close to hitting the spot! We especially enjoyed the spicy cashew chicken, pork dumplings, and lamb skewers. They have an original cocktail menu and delicious wines. If you haven’t been yet, it’s one you need to check out.
Where are your favorite spots for dumplings and delicious noodles? We’re always looking for new places with good food. Ni hao! -M+C
