Cream of the Crop

Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding with Carmel Sauce & Whipped Cream: The Ultimate Cream of the Crop. This dish was to-die-for and super easy… perfect crowd pleaser, guests are usually quite impressed!

I used pain de mie from Acme Bread Co., you could always use brioche or challah… but I liked the texture and sourness this bread gave to the dish. Cut 1 inch pieces, throw in baking dish. Then mix together 1 & 1/4 c whole milk, 1 & 1/4 cream, 4 eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, and 1c dk. chocolate chips. Pour on top of bread and let sit for at least 30 min. (but i think the longer the better).

Before baking I drizzled some butter on top and a touch more raw chunky sugar… bake for about 45-hour (until crust is a little browned & looks perfect).

Drizzle each dish with Caitlin’s Carmel Sauce and some homemade whipped cream. Mmm, it’s the best thing in the world. Enjoy.

Sorry for the half-eaten picture, I was much more concerned with eating it than photographing.
