Happy 4th of July

This day is hands down one of my favorite holiday’s of the year… summertime, bbq’s, good food, friends and did I mention food? Probably why I like this holiday so much, its all about the food. You have to make it about the all American menu… here are a few things were cooking up for the day! Enjoy and have a great 4th! xx
PB&J Bars: these are heaven…. such a little kid thing to make, but trust me, big kids like them too! Recipe here.
BBQ Ribs: I usually like my ribs with a simple dry-rub (Jimmy makes really good ones!) but for the 4th some juicy, messy bbq ribs sounded delightful… check these out!
Sangria: Caitlin is making one for us with peaches & ginger… sounds amazing, and not super sweet. I like doing a white sangria, with a Gruner Veltliner to keep it light and crisp. I think the ginger will be a nice balance in there too. Here are a few recipes I thought looked good…. you can always alter to your liking.
Tri-tip: always a winner on the 4th and a great meat for groups… we made it the other week and put a roasted salsa on it…might have to do that again!
and baked beans are a must…
Anything corn or watermelon related is also a must for the day…. these look great!
Chipotle Lime Butter… mmm!
Watermelon salads… just keep it simple: a little queso fresco, arugula, lime & salt, and a splash of olive oil… de-lish!
Ok, happy bbq-ing!
