closet = total disaster

Every few months my closet needs a serious cleanse. It’s time to weed through, let go of the things I never wear, and re-organize. The piles of tee’s are no longer neatly stacked, the sweaters are stuffed & jammed to fit, the jeans have somehow multiplied, and I can’t seem to find an extra hanger to save my life…. what happened?!! It seems that all the sudden my entire closet is a complete disaster, and it makes the process of getting dressed (which should be fun) a daunting and majorly frustrating task. So I decided its time to get in there… and I always find it a bit easier to start with a little inspiration.

From hints and splashes, to full-on color explosions, the fashion crowd is rocking all kinds of bold hues and creative combos in even the dreariest of weather.  With our rainy season in full swing here in SF, adding a little pop of color to your outfit is the perfect way to brighten things up, at least until the sun comes out!

The real deal

While we were observing all these beautiful animals in the bush of South Africa I kept thinking how much they have inspired fashion trends over the years… and it was so obvious why. These animals get to wear such vibrant, sharp colors that are so vivid and take on these shapes and lines that are truly inspiring. These photos don’t do justice, but have a look!

Juice! We are all obsessed with Living Greens.  Brian and Michelle make the best fresh juices we have tried and they deliver right to the store!  Melissa did one of their cleanses last Fall and has never felt so good! We will all be cleansing and juicing to stay healthy in 2011.

We will be traveling to Antwerp, Belgium during our Fall 2011 European buying trip in search of new talent to showcase @ CARROTS.

Cotogna.  We are thrilled to be neighbors of this fantastic new restaurant from the masterminds behind Quince, Michael and Lindsay Tusk have really outdone themselves with Cotogna, and we cannot get enough!  If we are not at the store, you’ll know where to find us…breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

The “Tokyo Slim” from Current/Elliot.  We love our skinnies, but are delighted to see this super-comfy shape on the denim radar for Spring.

Illesteva. Beca Bronze.  We just didn’t get enough of these bad boys in 2010.  2011 Forecast: Sunny!
