Fatty French Affair

Last weekend we went up to Yountville and had lunch at Bistro Jeanty… its been years since I’ve been, and it was utterly amazing. Maybe not the lightest of lunches, but so incredible worth every bite… from the St. Germain Champagne Cocktail, to the pate appetizers… Steak and frites, cassoulet, beef bourguignon… ratatouille… and oh, the berry bread pudding. Honestly, it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Nothing fancy or necessarily unique about the food, just outstanding French bistro food. Go soon, and eat everything!

Vegetal Wax candles
Cire Trudon is the oldest French manufacturer producing candles of the utmost quality and time-honored traditions. We’ve had their classic green Venetian glass candles in store for awhile now and just received a few more scents. Here are our two new favorite candles:

Le Cierge Impérial and les bustes de cire (Napoléan bust)
Cire Trudon makes some of the most unique candles. Here are all three of the busts they make (although we’ve only ordered the Napoléan bust in black for now):
