Summer holiday: London

We were recently on holiday in London with our family and wanted to share some of our favorite stops along the way. We’re big food people, so eating is always priority, especially on vacation. Here are a few of our favorite things:
The Borough Market is a huge outdoor farmer market, with all kinds of amazing fresh produce and food stands. We tried everything: green curry bowls, famed grilled cheese sandwiches (definitely a favorite), fresh oysters, homemade breads and pastas, and the list goes on. The immediate surrounding area has great little pubs and shops to check out too. The market is only open Thursday through Saturday, but it’s the perfect way to spend a day.
The Botanist was great for lunch and dinner. They had awesome hamburgers, delicious cocktails, and a fun atmosphere for people watching.
The Engineer was a quaint pub in a wonderful little neighborhood. They had a lovely outdoor patio in the back that’s perfect for a late lunch on a sunny day. Right across the street is an adorable little market with daily fresh foods and all kinds of other wonderful goodies. Awesome cookies for dessert!
The Daylesford Market is probably the coolest specialty store I have ever been to. It’s beautifully built out with a warm feel. If I lived anywhere near, it would be the only place I would visit for grocery shopping. They have a unique selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables, a butcher shop with the most knowledgeable butcher, a bakery, café, and more! We could have spent hours there looking at all the different types of local honey, fresh jams, and homemade sauces—yum. If you like to cook and love good food, you’ll love this place. Also, it’s in Notting Hill, which is such a cute area to visit.
Warhorse was the best play we’ve ever seen. It was powerful and spectacular—it struck every emotion. Definitely a must see. – Xoxo, Catie G.
