Restaurant Update: we support “nojo”

A truly inspiring and amazing meal at Nojo, located in Hayes Valley, which serves Japanese style skewers and pub food, also know as yakitori and izakaya. Nojo, meaning “farm” in Japanese, offers top quality ingredients from local farms (listed on the menu daily) that make every dish a vibrant, colorful, delicious treat. The whole way of eating at Nojo is fun and casual, you just keep ordering from items “not on a stick” such as miso soup with tofu, mushrooms and roasted eggplant, OR fried sardines on a bed of heirloom tomatoes OR Gyouza with corn & mushrooms (little heavenly dumplings)… Amazing! The items on a stick are simple and savory such as pork belly, bacon wrapped scallops and duck gizzards.

I loved the whole concept of the place… the quality of the food, the creativity of the menu, the carefully selected beer and sake list,  as well as the friendly, helpful service… I’m hooked, and since the menu changes daily… might have to go back… tonight!
