Independent Sangria

July 2, 2013 § 1 Comment

Summertime = sangria. And what’s a better excuse than the 4th of July? Over the weekend we were at our favorite spot, Nopalito and they were serving up a delicious sangria. Made with rosé, which I haven’t done before, and some other interesting ingredients, like absinthe! It was more boozy than sugar-y, but still nice and light… perfect for an afternoon cocktail! This is what I’ll be whipping up come Thursday. Here is the recipe that Nopalito generously shared… in case you want to join in the fun!

The Nopalito Rosé Sangria

12 bottles rosé

30 oz cassis

16 oz fresh lemon juice

16 oz agave simple syrup – I’m actually going to omit this… I don’t like mine super sweet, and rosé already usually is.

3 oz absinthe

Mix it all up and pour it over ice!

* I am also going to add some fresh stone fruit. I bought peaches and nectarines at the farmers market over the weekend. I love some fruit in my sangria!

Enjoy & happy 4th!
