Eyes are Sia Taylor’s delicate jewelry this week. A new line for Carrots and a real treasure these bracelets, earrings, and necklaces are dainty, light, and original. A graduate of the British Royal College of Art, Sia Taylor’s is trained in the fine art of sculpture. It was a post-graduate adventure through Botswana that opened her eyes to inspiration from the natural world. The story goes that Sia started her first jewelry collection the summer after graduation under the shade of a thorn tree in the African savanna. She was touched after taking a macroscopic look into the intimate and contemplative world of seeds, flowers, grasses, leaves, and even little crawling creatures.

Sia Taylor’s restrained and elegant use of yellow, red, and white gold, polished and oxidized silver, and the precious metals of ruthenium and rhodium allows her detailed work to retain a minimalist quality.

These days Sia Taylor gets her ideas from rambles taken through her native British countryside. A leaf stirring, a crow peaking through the reeds, or a fox on the run can spark some new concept for her work.
