The Weekly “Avocado”

My current favorite things:
1. Anything neon. (my green nail polish last week was amazing, along with Vieve’s hot pink!)… I want this color next!
2. Taking a bath with byNieves bath salts… they are super detoxifying and invigorating.
3. Over indulging. It really is necessary in life sometimes. Try this:
4. My slow cooker. Love making slow cooked chicken, beef and pork… so easy and endless possibilities.
like tacos, or…
ribs!
5. Watching sister’s baby belly grow a little every day.
6. And last, but not least AVOCADOS in my morning smoothies. Serious.

Cream of the Crop: Emanuelle Alt
February 1, 2012 § Leave a comment
The always chic, perfectly-parisienne editor of French Vogue, Emanuelle Alt, sure knows how to rock some jeans. I love the way she offsets a denim or leather skinny silhouette with a structured jacket and boots or pointy pumps. Her style (part minimalist, part rocker, part classic) is spot-on and her choice “uniform” is right up our alley!

wear it with your favorite button down and your comfiest jeans, perfect for weekend brunch and the lounging that is bound to follow!
*button down by Frank & Eileen (come check out all the new colors in for Spring!).
New Years Resolution Battle
January 23, 2012 § 1 Comment
Do you make them, or not? I feel this is the constant topic of conversation this month… some people have a list a mile long and then others are totally against the whole idea of it. Personally, I feel the “new years resolution” hype is setting oneself up for failure or disappointment. Maybe if you word it differently, it sounds a little better, like “new years goals” or “self improvement” seems to come across less daunting as the word resolution, which I find so final & forever… “never again can you drink a soda, smoke a cig, eat bread, blah blah boring…”
So, why not take the opportunity in this new year to focus on something positive and try to remember to embrace life, appreciate those you love, let go a little and try to just keep it all in moderation. Here are a few things that might help you jumpstart your 2012 “goals”… new year, new possibilities… be good to yourself.
Laugh a little. Cobbs Comedy Club
Have a bloody mary & the butter basted farm eggs with a girlfriend next Saturday at Nopa
Slow down & just breathe. My favorite yoga teacher, Allison Hodge.
Read Party of the Century, its just fun.
Be nice to your body and nourish it with local, organic, & thoughtful foods. Try Michelle & Brian’s amazing varieties of juice that rejuvenate your soul. Or if you need a bit of help with a home-cooked week night meal, order from the amazing Three Stone Hearth… its like Mom came over and whipped up some sheppards pie for you!
Be brave & try something new: like wearing these red lips or tights. Love both.
Have friends over and make this… looks fun!
Actually READ this blog, love her.
Okay, that’s all I have for now. Enjoy xx

Friends and clients of Carrots, Sam & Kendall created Sequin Harvest. Adorably stylish and incredibly hip, Sam & Kendall chronicle their adventures in the Napa Valley and their mutual love for “all things shiny.” The girls were kind enough to feature Carrots on their blog! Big thanks to you both, come visit all the time! Here are some of the great photos snapped while we played “dress up” at the store. For the full feature, click here.
