Dear Friends,

April 1, 2014 § 5 Comments

Seven years ago we set out on a exciting new adventure. Our mission was to create a destination shop unlike any other boutique in the Bay Area. Inspired by the global, optimistic attitude that defines San Francisco, together we opened CARROTS in the historic Jackson Square neighborhood of San Francisco. With the help of some incredibly talented designers and architects, we created a beautiful space to showcase the collections we sought out in our travels around the world.

Looking back over these past few years, we have been blessed with a variety of fond memories and experiences. We’ve had the great privilege of collaborating with wonderfully talented people, witnessing designers evolve in their own creativity as we grew alongside them. Like our dear friend Geoffrey Young and the incredible jewelry and genius leatherwork he has provided our customers. And Dean Hutchinson who challenged our thinking and inspired us to partner with him to create an original, one-of-a-kind line for CARROTS.

We’ve had the good fortune of being able to travel in search of amazing finds for our clients, sipping cocktails on Parisian streets, or the bar at Hotel Costes, and walking the showrooms of Paris or New York City has never failed to spark a renewed sense of creativity and inspiration. The fashion shows, the beautiful people, the frenzied pace, the over-the-top food…let’s just say our buying trips have been gratifying, memorable experiences in themselves.

But the joy of getting to know the women who walked through our doors has been the pinnacle of our journey. Strong, amazing, diverse women; whom have transcended the notion of ‘shoppers’ and become dear, lifelong friends. It is you for whom we opened our doors. And it is you that continue to inspire us today. So we thank you.

In keeping with our adventures at CARROTS, life has taken us in unexpected and exciting directions. So it is in this same spirit of adventure, gratitude and optimism that we announce the closing of CARROTS.

We want to thank, first and foremost the amazing women who have come to be part of the CARROTS family. To our dear colleagues Angie, Genevieve and Jessica – thank you for embarking on this journey with us. Your council, your style and your loyalty have been of immeasurable value to the boutique. And lastly we want to thank San Francisco for being such a wonderful home. There is no finer city, no host more hospitable. Know we are closing these doors to open new ones, so know you’ll hear from us again.

So please come by for a cocktail, a hug, and all while shopping our new Spring inventory at 40% off during the month of April.

I’m sad to see you go, I’ve been meaning to stop in while on lunch. My mother in law would LOVE your store and I had hoped to bring her here, but alas I’ve had two children in the past 1.5 years and haven’t found a moment when she’s in town to come by. Hope to bring her in before it’s too late. Your website design was so creative and inspiring, I had hoped to share it with my husband who is creating his own website for his photography. Good luck to you all!!!
